Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the image of Paris using an imagological method, which is still uncommon in Lithuania. There is a hypothesis, that this trend in comparative literature offers a sound methodological and objective research of foreign literary representations, and is particularly effective in analysing the topic of Paris. The works chosen for the analysis represent different aspects of this image. The article starts with the beginning of the image of Paris in the publications of the first Lithuanian independence in the XXth century, then discusses several later works, such as Past Perfect Occasion (1998) by Herkus Kunčius, Letters from Paris (2008) a publicistic work by Rimantas Vanagas, and Emigrants for One Summer (2003) a novel by Valdas Papievis. The first two works are only used as examples of certain cases and their analysis is very concise. The third one is analyzed applying the basic theoretical principles of imagology. The main attention is devoted to the research of important aspects of the image, which help to reveal a distinctive concept of Paris in the Lithuanian literature.
