STYLISTIC FEATURES OF ARCHAISMS IN THE MEDIEVAL BOSNIAN LITERACY

Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the stylistic features of archaic forms in medieval literary expression which, based on their functions as such, enables the derivation of a conclusion about the literary value of the medieval letters and epigraphic texts. The origin of stylistic archaisms in these texts is in relation to elements of medieval manners of writing, which is based, on the one hand, on conservative western dialect and literary prestige of Slavonic Church forms on the other. These two types of stylemes (dialectal and Church Slavonic origin) are built, more or less, into all secular texts.
