Summary/Abstract: The defendant’s action, to require the injured party a sum of money with the promise that he/she will help the injured party to obtain a job in the Romanian gendarmerie because of the influence they will exert on officials, meets the constitutive elements of the offense of trading in influence. The act of the defendant, to persuade the injured party to take off the jewelry he/she was wearing and put them in the glove compartment of his car, in order not to make a bad impression during the meeting they were supposed to attend for that above-mentioned job, followed by the defendant’s action of pawning the jewelry forgotten by the injured party in the glove compartment, meets the constitutive elements of the offense of theft.
