Issues of multi-territorial farms in Polish legislation

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents basic problems about the creation and functioning of multiterritorial agricultural farms. In 2003 there was created a new legal act about shaping of agricultural policy, which in a fundamental way limited functioning of multi-territorial agricultural farms, determining maximum level of their size to 300 ha. The act brought back the necessity of agricultural qualification possession for people running farms. The next legal act from 2011 in the obligatory way introduced the rule that every land tenant was obliged to give back 30% of the whole area in order to improve family farms agrarian structure. That act is unprofitable for multi-territorial agricultural farms because it makes disturbances in the functioning of basic factors in agriculture – land, capital and work.
