Summary/Abstract: The paper shows some rural infrastructure factors that influence shaping of rural areas. Among these factors there are listed: housing, water supply and sewage networks, roads and electricity consumption level. There is a considerable increase in housing conditions, which in some cases are similar to the conditions in cities. Currently, the technical infrastructure in the countryside takes a completely new meaning in the context of our accession to the European Union, the adoption of strategies for the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy, especially the agro-environmental programmes. By applying the CAP programmes, Poland has committed itself to achieving the objectives of this policy, its principles, criteria, standards and conditions for the functioning on the common market. The new RDP 2007-2013 contains a number of actions which significantly strengthen rural infrastructure and increase the conditions of the farmers in the environment.
