Summary/Abstract: The article looks at the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) which is a system for reporting food issues and a tool for consumer protection in the European Union. The paper begins by describing the structure and functioning of RASFF. Next, the author provides a short overview of the legal framework of this system in Poland. In the final section the effects of RASFF are discussed.
