Summary/Abstract: Critical discourse analysis of 40 hours of broadcasted material of reality show “Farm 3” Serbia (November / December 2010 TV Pink) confirmed the main hypothesis of this study. The analysis showed that “Farm 3” participants deliberately chose roles during which they insisted on acting in a controversial and discriminatory manner. Their goal was to differentiate themselves from one another and, in so doing, win as many audience votes as possible. The roles selected and simulated offered the audience "folk entertainment", a media mix of kitsch and bad taste. By sending SMS messages, the public supported and evaluated the roles played out by the participants as if they occurred in a real-life environment and not an orchestrated reality show.
