Miniature Competition

Summary/Abstract: In 2004, the 3rd Miniature Competition was organised in Czêstochowa by The Gauda Mater Cultural Center. To the first Biennial, 620 pictures by 220 artists were sent from 22 countries. To the 3trd edition of the show, 440 artists from 39 countries sent 1,326 pictures. The jurors selected 304 miniatures by 151 artists from 29 countries. They accepted paintings, drawings, monochromatic photographs and graphic art. The maximum size of a picture could be 10x10 centimeters. Grand Prix was given to Lars Wikstroem from Sweden. The first award was given to Apoloniusz Wêg³owski from Warsaw for his subtle and poetic abstract drawings. Anna Lejba from Gdynia received the second award. Andrzej Pukacz, the recipient of the 3rd award, showed photographs of architectural motifs. El¿bieta Zdyb from £ódŸ received a special award from the Academy of Fine Arts in Czêstochowa for her surrealistic landscapes.
