Confidence intervals for the median in the unknown distribution

Summary/Abstract: In practical applications of methods of mathematical statistics the assumptions without which the use of each tool is debatable are often passed over. An important aspect is the search for methods that will be resistant to the change of the assumptions about the distributions. It is proposed to use generalized Lambda distribution to fit distribution and to construct control charts for median.
