Summary/Abstract: LublinVoivodeshipis traditionally an agricultural region. However, in recentyears, with thegeneral trend ofthe development of tourismin Poland,also in Lublin region there has been a turn towards tourism asan important form ofeconomic activity.One of the challengesof moderntourism isitsimplementation in accordancewith the principlesof sustainable development. LublinVoivodeship due to itsnatural and cultural values, low rate of conversion ofthe existingenvironment andagriculturalprofileof the region,has a specialopportunityfor the development ofsustainable tourism.This article presents values ofLublin Voivodeship, predisposingthem to thedevelopment of thistype of tourism, examples of existingtourist offerandproposals foruntapped opportunities todevelopsustainable forms of tourismin the region.
