Summary/Abstract: This paper is about the phenomenon observed during the celebration of 100 Anniversary of the Albanian Statehood on November 28, 2012. Specifically, it is about placing of the red and black flag - the national symbol of Albanians - on the front cover of Çifteli (pronunciation: /’tʃi:fteli/ ), one of the most folk Albanian musical instruments. Traditionally, almost all Çifteli makers used to place a black sing on the front cover of this instrument, which, according to them, was a symbol of an eagle’s wing or an eagle itself with an abstract shape and camouflaged, or they would also carve some geometric figures, floral ornaments, and so on. However, prior to the celebration of the November Holidays, the emblem of the red and black flag decorated almost every çifteli. This national symbol was also used in the past, but to a lesser extent than during this anniversary, mainly due to coercive measures imposed by the then Serbian regime. Along with the red and black symbol, Kosova’s flag was also placed in many çiftelis, which in a way expressed the grounded identity of Kosova’s statehood. Not only the red and black symbol prevailed, but also it became a psychological force to be transformed into a collective morality. Objectively, this emblem symbolized the freedom of Albanian nation more than ever before.
