Summary/Abstract: In 2006 D. Masłowska received the Nike Literary Prize for her novel Paw królowej. Its language is a radical attempt to clash and contrast stylistically and grammatically totally different linguistic elements, the ways to describe and create the literary reality. In this prose, there are words and linguistic structures which would not meet anywhere else. There is an extreme stylistic syncretism, present in almost every sentence, to create a unique language, a lexical, phrasal, syntactic and, finally culture, compilation. The style is impossible to identify explicitly. It is pseudo-intellectual gibberish, youth slang and sociolect, primitive and vulgar language, colloquial style and cultured Polish. The style is supposed to ridicule primitive speech and simpleminded thinking about the world, criticizing popular, consumptive culture and a certain type of human mentality.
