Socio-economic development of Eastern Poland – chosen aspects

Summary/Abstract: Eastern Poland is a suburban region characterized by a low dynamic of economic development, poor development and inadequate transport infrastructure, low living standards and insufficient growth factors. To enhance the development processes in this region, The Operational Programme Development of Eastern Poland (OP DEP) was created in the programming period 2007-2013. Its main objective is: “Hastening the pace of social and economic development in Eastern Poland pursuant to the sustainable development principle”. Sustainable development of tourist potential based on natural conditions should become one of the bases of development of Eastern Poland.
