Summary/Abstract: Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment (OPI&E) is the largest programme in the current programming period. EU involved in its implementation more than 28 billion EUR, which constitutes approx. 42% of all funds for the Cohesion Policy in Poland. 81% of these funds is already allocated. The programme aims at the improvement of Poland and its regions’ investment attractiveness through the development of technical infrastructure at the same time protecting and improving the condition of environment, health, maintaining cultural identity and developing territorial cohesion. Within the framework of the programme, large infrastructural investments are implemented within the scope of environmental protection, transport, power industry, culture, national heritage, health care and higher education.
