Place of dairy cooperatives in the regional development: case of Lodz Voivodeship, Poland

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article was to show the importance of dairy cooperatives in regional development on the example of Lodz Voivodeship . The paper analyzed the number of employees in studied cooperatives in Lodz Voivodeship, the range of products as well as their quality and safety. It was concluded that dairy cooperatives in Lodz Voivodeship were characterized by their ability to maintain and create new jobs. The dairy cooperatives’ assortment and an appropriate level of quality of offered products affect the expansion into new markets and an increase in attractiveness of the area in which dairy cooperatives operate.
