Summary/Abstract: The articles presents rising current account surplus in China as a one of the main reasons of increasing global imbalances. China's current account as a share of GDP reached 10% in 2007. One of the hypothesis claims that the current account surplus in China originated in its high savings. In China, saving by each of the three sector is high (households, corporates and government). After global financial crisis China's surplus was cut dramatically and by 2011had fallen to 2,8% of GDP. This fall in external surplas was largely a result of a increasing investment in chinese economy, and not decreasing savings
