Limitation and possibilities of forestation growth in the Poznań agglomeration on the example of the Rokietnica commune

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to develop an afforestation concept for the area of the Rokietnica commune. It was possible for the new forest areas to be designed owing to the fact that the factors present in the commune were determined, namely, environmental, hydrographic, soil as well as selected anthropogenic factors. A further stage of the study was the selection of soil for afforestation, in conformity with the rules of new forest complexes design, which constitute a part of guidelines for rural-forest boundary creation. The current forestation of the Rokietnica commune accounts for 7.6%. Within the afforestation concept, it is targeted to increase the forestation of the research subject to 23.76%, which gives a result that is similar to an average in Poznań district, which is 22.2
