Summary/Abstract: Polish connections with the EU structures create many potential opportunities and threats for all kinds of enterprises. The aim of the study was to identify the way of perceiving the conditions resulting from the Polish accession to European Union by retailers from Podkarpacie region who offer food products. The results of own research conducted with the questionnaire form in two periods: 2006 and 2010 year were presented in the paper and it enabled to compare opinions about the opportunities and threats within the changing reality separated by the world crisis. The comparisons between the enterprises with different location, size and efficiency have been made as well.
