Summary/Abstract: Does there exist a conviction that it is still better to live in some regions of Poland while in others living conditions are worse? This question is explored by the author of this article on the basis of a research conducted by the Public Opinion Research Centre (CBOS) in December 2013. The point of reference is an analogous study also conducted by CBOS in 1996, where more than two-thirds of respondents (71%) considered life conditions in some regions of Poland worse than in others. Did the developments that took place in the last seventeen years as for instance Poland's accession to the European Union have an impact on the judgments of respondents in this respect or is the situation rather unchanged. This article is an attempt to answer these and other questions.
