Summary/Abstract: The article presents a comparative picture of the constitutional dispositions dedicated to the different territorial collectivities and to their internal organisation, in Romanian and French law, in order to understand the common features as well as the peculiarities of the territorial organisation of the two unitary states, both engaged on the way of decentralisation. In the mode general context of the constitutionalisation of the law of local collectivities, this analysis of the constitutional text would allow us to notice the elements which explain especially the complex character of the French administrative chart as opposed to the more simple Romanian territorial organisation. In the same time, evolutions remain possible, in the two cases, in the framework of a future amendment.
