Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to an insufficiently studied problem, the history of everyday life of the State Duma of Russia in the early twentieth century. The article is based on diary entries freelance employee of the newspaper “New Time” Sophia Ivanovna Smirnova-Sazonova stored in the holdings of the manuscript division of the Institute of Russian literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Analysis of diary records S. I. Smirnova-Sazonova, we can more fully represent the different aspects of the life and activity of the lower house of the Russian Parliament: the interior space of the Tauride Palace, the appearance of deputies, the psychological atmosphere of the Duma sessions , “box journalists in the State Duma.” Of great interest are the diary pages devoted to her co-worker - an employee of the newspaper “New Time”, chairman of the Society of Journalists Duma A. A. Pylenko, who is deservedly considered the “king of the Duma reportage.” Diary entries journalist provide valuable material for the study of parliamentary oratory in Russia, the origin of which coincides with the beginning of the twentieth century. Particular attention is paid to public speaking famous city attorney, a member of the Central Committee of the Constitutional Democratic Party F. I. Rodichev, is considered one of the best pre-revolutionary State Duma speaker and speaking in the so-called “expressive and emotional» style; parliamentary oratory Prime Minister P. A. Stolypin; manner of speeches of the deputies of the left factions of the State Duma. Diary entries S. I. Smirnova-Sazonova materials complement her articles published in the newspaper “New Time” in the 1906–1909. Many of the documents are first introduced in the scientific revolution.
