Polish export of fruit and fruit preparations in the period 2001-2012

Summary/Abstract: The main goal of the paper is to evaluate changes of the quantity and the value of Polish export of fruit and fruit preparations between 2001-2012 and to identify the main export destinations. For the purpose of the research, the data of the International Trade Centre (ITC) was used as well as the analysis of the export growth and the index of trade coverage were identified. In the analyzed period there was steady growth of fruit and fruit preparations (both in terms of their quantity and value), and the main importing markets were Russia and Germany. In the years 2001–2012 Poland strengthened its position in the exports both of fruits (HS 08) as well as processed goods – fruit preparations (HS 20). It is worth adding that for the first time in 2012 for HS 08 the indicator of trade coverage was higher than 100, which means relative internal advantage over trade partners.
