Summary/Abstract: The elaboration analyzes the scientific problem of conscious steering of the process of creating knowledge of employees as a factor of developing and creating the added value in a company. The aim of the elaboration is to indicate the selected civilizational, organizational and psychological conditionings of shaping the process of creating knowledge in an organization in the period of transition to sustainable knowledge-based economy. The elaboration includes the analysis of three problems: the course of contemporary stage of civilization changes, the role of knowledge in a modern company and also the conditionings of the process of creating knowledge in an organization. It has been shown that in the present stage of development of post-industrial civilization the changes in the sphere of values (axiological bases of management) delay the implementation of sustainable knowledge-based economy. In Poland the system of education for creativity as well as the preparations of employees to sell their knowledge are still poorly developed. There have been presented both the external (towards a man as a person) and internal conditionings of the development of creativity of company’s employees.
