Summary/Abstract: With the launching of the Leader program in Poland the rapid development of stakeholders co-operation from the public, social and private sectors in the form of Local Action Groups in rural areas has been observed. Currently there are 336 organizations of this type in the country. Most of them for the main purpose of the action is committed to the activation of the rural population and the development of local communities. One factor that has caused such interest in this form of partnership was the possibility to obtain financing from the European Union. The aim of the article is to analyze the effects of the operation of one of the Local Action Groups in the Łódź Voivodeship and to answer the question: Did LAG “Prym” contibute to the development of coooperation in rural areas?
