Factors affecting the structure of expenditure of households in Poland

Summary/Abstract: In the article the structure of households' expenditures on consumer goods and services was thoroughly analysed. The work was also an attempt to answer the question whether there is a relationship between some factors and the structure of households' expenditure on consumer goods and services. The chi-square goodness-of-fit test was used to examine the influence of these factors on the structure of expenditures of households in Poland. In the article it has been shown that the size of locality of residence, the socio-economic group and the level of education of reference person in the household have a significant impact on the share of each category of expenditures in the total amount spent on customer goods and services by households in Poland.
