Accessibility of the air transport services as a determinant of foreign investments location in Lower Silesia

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is an attempt to answer the question what impact on decisions regarding the location of foreign investments in the region of Lower Silesia region and the creation of jobs by the companies with foreign capital has the accessibility to the air transport services, considered mainly as the proximity of Wroclaw Airport. The factors and determinants of foreign investments’ decisions and theoretical aspects connected with the issue of impact of the accessibility to the air transport services on the investment location decisions have been described first. Then, original data collected in the survey carried out in 2013 among 75 foreign companies in Lower Silesia have been presented and analyzed. The author tries to verify in this article the research hypothesis that the proximity of Wroclaw Airport and air transport links from the airport are a significant factor taken into consideration by foreign investors while taking decision regarding the location of investment in Lower Silesia.
