Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to compare selected twenty nine countries in the world in terms of emission of air pollutants in relation to their total area and population, and ordering these countries from the best to the worst. A hypothesis was stated that Poland is a region with relatively low emission of air pollutants compared to the number of inhabitant sand moderate emission with respect to the total area of the country. In the study this hypothesis was verified positively. In the article the standardized sum method was used as a tool
