Summary/Abstract: The primary purpose of this article is to present the aims and tasks of the Polish pre-school education. The author looks at the functioning of preschooling in 1989-2010. This period includes the 2009 reform that introduced significant changes to this system. Furthermore, she examines the issues related to equal educational opportunities, financing preschool education and the current government’s plans towards the pre-school education.
