Demographic characteristics of the rural inhabitants in Poland.

Summary/Abstract: The article presents some basic statistical data on Polish rural areas inter alia demographic data about rural dwellers (population, sex and age distribution, level of education, migrations etc.). The author also discusses the most important demographic trends and forecasts. The analysis is based on the results of the research conducted by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) and other institutions.
