Classification of the Baltic Sea Region countries due to the time of household work

Summary/Abstract: In spite of differences in the amount and value of household work in the Baltic Sea Region countries, there is a similarity in the use of time spent on this kind of work in Scandinavian countries and in Germany as well as in the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) and Poland. The article presents the results of their classification on the basis of the time of work done in the household. For this purpose the method of k-means and the data from the HETUS time budgets were used. Furthermore, the relation between the value of the household work and gross domestic product was measured.
