Perception of emotional face expression in children with ADHD

Summary/Abstract: A short surrey on studies that investigate the ability to precisely decode emotional facial expression in children with ADHD is presented. They focus on the relationship between manifested deficits in emotional competence (especially in nonverbal communication connected to perception) and problems in social skills characteristic of the syndrome. Two theoretical models are presented: they search to explain the role which affective stimuli perception.
