Burnout as a consequence of stress at work among medical staff

Summary/Abstract: In this paper the problem of causes and symptoms of burnout among employees of a large specialist hospital is undertaken The thesis put in the article was confirmed by the results of nurses surveys. The authors sought answers to questions concerning causes, symptoms and possibilities of burnout prevention on the basis of designed questionnaires. Systematic performance audits of stress as an important tool to support the process of quality improvement in hospital is proposed in this paper.
