Summary/Abstract: The processes taking place in the modern economy open up new operational realities, which are different from those to which we could get used to over the years. Regionalization and following globalization and related processes of free movement of capital and employees, as well as the effects of technological progress make the operation of enterprises subject to constant and often violent changes. Both environment and company are changing. The effects of these changes directly translate into the development of business entities and determine their function in the future. In this context, there should be paid attention to these elements, which implementation in the company may give a boost to the development faster than a competitor. One of these elements seems to be the implementation of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The authors of the paper address this issue, investigate the impact of the implementation of CSR on competitiveness of Polish and Swedish companies
