Functioning and support areas of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme

Summary/Abstract: In the latest concepts of regional development the new so-called qualitative factors of development get special importance. They also highlight the ability to absorb external resources. The purpose of this article is to show the importance of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme in building and supporting endogenous growth factors. It was subjected to the analysis of the structure, size and thematic areas of financing support under the Swiss Funds in Poland. The program supported venture capital funds, local government projects related to improving energy efficiency, regional development, development of transport and urban infrastructure and environmental protection. It contributed to the development of Polish-Swiss partnerships and networks between Polish and Swiss entities. In particular, the article focuses on projects within the Block Grant as an instrument to support local development.
