Summary/Abstract: The study explores the rights of Nigerian women, considering the patriarchal nature of Nigeria society, the inequality and violence faced by women. Quantitative and qualitative methods of data analysis were used. 3 Senatorial Districts were purposively selected in Ekiti State. 3 communities from each Senatorial District were randomly selected, representing urban, small town and rural communities to enhance comparison. 9 communities were selected altogether while 60 respondents were selected from each community using simple random sampling. A total of 540 respondents were selected for the interview. Questionnaire focused on socio-demographic status of respondents, knowledge of the rights of women, consequences of women inability to exercise their human rights in Nigeria on their dignity as women and the effect on development in Ekiti State. While the quantitative method explores the statistical package for social Sciences (SPSS) the qualitative method was analyzed using descriptive analysis to strengthen the quantitative analysis.
