Level and reasons for differences of salaries in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The average level of salaries in Poland is far from the level of salaries in the European Union. Therefore, the article attempts to analyze the level, structure and changes in the amount of average remuneration in the national economy. The first part of the article presents the evolution of the average level of salaries in Poland in the years 2004-2014, as well as the distribution of salaries by gender. The second part of the paper compares the structure of the level of salaries with the division into voivodeships and regions. The article also shows the causes affecting differences in salaries. The aim of the paper is to present the level and structure of salaries in some aspects as well as to identify the causes of their differentiation.
