Determinants of the development of creative industries

Summary/Abstract: The statement that creative industries are a significant driving force in the economy appears increasingly often in the analyses and discussions on the development of modern Europe. Undoubtedly high and significant importance of creative industries is evidenced by their increasing share in generating GDP and employment. The paper aims to explain basic issues associated with the concept of creative industries and provides an identification of opportunities for the development of creative industries in Poland compared to the European Union. The paper is prepared on the basis of the available literature and reports on the subject.
