Attractiveness of the region of Gdańsk Coast in the light of research on cruise ship passengers

Summary/Abstract: For more than a decade, dozens of cruise ships with thousands of passengers onboard have been handled in the Polish sea ports during the tourist seasons. In Poland, only a few tour operators deal with service of cruise ships on land, and just thanks to their engagement Poland is visited by the greatest cruise vessels in the world. The purpose of this article is to assess the attractiveness of tourist packages offered to cruise ship passengers by travel offices in Poland. In the article, the results of original scientific research, carried out among cruise ship passengers visiting Poland in 2014, were presented. The value added of the article is the fact this survey has been carried out in Poland for the first time and shall be representative, thanks to the application of a method of random selection of the sample and a large group of respondents.
