Summary/Abstract: The year 1983 saw the creation of "Studia Bibliologiczne" ["Bibliological Studies"], a scientific organ of the Library Science and Scientific Information Institute of the University of Silesia in Katowice. The publishing house has been created as an initiative of Adam W. Jarosz, the then director of the institute. 19 volumes have been published until the year 2011. 79 articles on issues of Silesia and Zagłębie (almost a third of the materials) studies published within "Studia Bibliologiczne" have been analyzed. Based on the pattern taken from “Polska Bibliografia Bibliologiczna”, the author examines publications devoted to bibliology (4), bibliography (1), the structure and history of books (17), book manufacturing (22), librarianship (27), and the use of books (6). Two texts were included in the “varia” category. The study has revealed the richness of themes raised by the authors, which are a reflection of research interests in the field of Polish bibliology and information science.
