Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is a conceptual arrangement and characterization of possibilities of the new media application for knowledge brokering and intellectual capital brokering. The innovation is situated at the centre of the analysis. Innovation is one of the eligible effects of knowledge brokering. Crowdsourcing was the subject of the analysis. Some examples of organizations implementing crowdsourcing were given. Then four of brokering platforms were chosen and characterized. The approach includes few elements of mediated knowledge formulation: cooperation, connectivity, democratization, information sharing, open intellectual properties. As a result of changes a new model of media and business culture emerges: the wikinomics. It is cited here as the concept explaining the described phenomena.
