Polish sector of international road freight transport hauliers – history, contemporary situation and the perspective and possibilities of its development in the future

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the past, contemporary situation and the perspective and possibilities for the growth and development in the coming future of the companies belonging to the Polish sector of international road freight transport hauliers. The core point of that analysis is that within last 15 years that group of enterprises has managed to become the most important one – the biggest EU international road freight haulier if the performance – measured as the haulage in tkm made by vehicles only in the international haulage – mainly long haul transport − including cross-trade and cabotage − is considered.
