Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is an attempt to draw attention to the role of transnational corporations and their business systems in the process of building the EU-Member common position to Russia. The thesis of this study is that next to the involvement of the country in trade with Russia, an important element which has an effect on the negotiating position is an activity of the parent corporation on the Russian market. The analysis focuses on the study of the potential impact of Europe’s most powerful corporations operating in the Russian market on the positions of their countries of origin. Additionally, attention has been paid to the new corporate lobbying methods and their impact on easing the divergent positions of the EU Member States as a result of building cross-sectional sectoral coalition.
