Summary/Abstract: The OMNI-IV Personality Disorder Inventory (Loranger, 2001) contains 210 items that help identify personality disorders, according to the way they are defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-IV; American Psychiatric Association, 1994). It consists of 10 personality disorder evaluation scales and 2 validity scales. OMNI-IV was adapted and standardized on the Romanian population by a team belonging to the Cognitrom unit from Cluj-Napoca (Ciuca & Albu, 2014). During the OMNI-IV adaptation, we noticed that the Obssesive-Compulsive scale, which assesses the obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, has an inadequate validity. We performed the items analysis of this scale, by using a clinical sample, made up of 13 individuals diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, and a non clinical sample, made up of 381 individuals that have no psychiatric diagnosis, and we identified an item that is inadequate. Following the removal of this item, the short scale (made of 17 items) has a better positive predictive value (VPP) than the Obssesive-Compulsive scale: if the treshold for the T scores is set at 75, then VPP is 0.400 for the Obssesive-Compulsive scale and 0.571 for the short scale. Also, the internal consistency of the short scale is bigger than that of the Obssesive-Compulsive scale: for the Obssesive-Compulsive scale, α = 0.725 in the non clinical sample and α = 0.594 in the clinical sample; for the short scale, α = 0.746 in the non clinical sample and α = 0.859 in the clinical sample.
