Summary/Abstract: 381 participants (234 from Transilvania and 147 from Banat), aged between 20 and 72, filled in a questionnaire about events (pleasant and unpleasant) that caused them stress during the previous 2 years. More than two thirds of the males and almost three quarters of the females pointed at least one stressful event related to their jobs. Yet, these events differ from one person to another, so most events related to professional activity of participants were reported by only a small part of the subjects. Only 18 stress causing events related to professional activity were pointed by at least two subjects. Stress levels of these events are usually moderate. In a similar proportion for females as for males, the number of participants who feel stressed especially because of events related to professional activity is approximately equal to that of subjects who feel stressed especially on account of unrelated events.
