Summary/Abstract: Since the second half of the eighteenth century, many monks from the monasteries in Neamt County took the path of Mount Athos, the same as their abbot, St. Paisius Velicicovschi, had done midcentury. Some of them have moved to live to the Holy Mountain and others just made a pilgrimage there, coming back to Neamt and Secu monasteries. Some of the latter have put in writing the story of their pilgrimage, and one of them is the scholar Hieromonk Chiriac from Secu monastery. In this paper we publish a full description of the monasteries in Mount Athos written by the pilgrim monk.
