Summary/Abstract: Throughout the interwar period, the Jewish community sought to integrate into the society from Braila. From its ranks, personalities such as Michael Sebastian, S. Semilian, the Mendl, Guttman and Goldenberg families are well distinguished. They managed to excel in various fields such as: literature, journalism, trade, diplomacy and even athletics. The outcome of their unrelentless activity was the apparent smooth integration in everyday life of a multiethnic city like Braila.
