City Caffes As Codes Of Urban Geography

Summary/Abstract: Many facts regarding the social life remained on the sidelines of interest of sociology in our country. Today, the viewpoint in which daily life occurs only within the framework of "big" sociological discourses presents more and more a part of the archived sociological approaches. Observation of kafanas, as the specific institutions, is a kind of mapping of social experience. This paper draws in foreground, from the corpus of historical and institutional experiences, the city's kafane and observes the facts that speak about their specific appearance, in a specific, urban language. In this way, an attempt was made to place an emphasis on the sociological map of cities in Serbia, in a function of better understanding of the processes of emerging and disap- pearing of the traditional values and of the originating and developing of modern values.
