Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the importance of the entrepreneurship education in economic development and wealth creation. Entrepreneurship and small enterprises play a central role in the European Union economy. The paper analyzes the main EU documents on promoting entrepreneurship. They are as follows: European Charter for Small Enterprises, Green Paper “Entrepreneurship in Europe”, Entrepreneurship action plan, the Strategy on promoting economic literacy and entrepreneurship education in Lithuania. The documents assert that entrepreneurship education has to be stimulated at all levels of formal and higher education. Long – term policy objectives were pointed out and include various forms of promotion entrepreneurship education. In order to deliver effective programs in entrepreneurship, educators and community partners will need to recognize the changing dynamics of the global landscape and its major impact on teaching, learning and constructing communities that nurture innovation and entrepreneurship. The survey on entrepreneurship education in Lithuania revealed that students perform different business practical training within the college. They are Business Practice Firms, „Junior Achievement“ model, computer business game “Hard Nut”, Training shop and training within real company. The paper analyzed advantages and disadvantages of these entrepreneurship training. The survey ascertained that the most popular type of teaching methods in entrepreneurship education are such: Creation of Business Plans (80%), Business Practice Firm (76%) and „Junior Achievement“ model (43%). The most popular subjects which the students would choose if they would start their business are following: Enterprise start up (49%), Finance (52%), Accountancy (49%), Creation of Business Plans (39%). Entrepreneurial skills could be learned in a variety of ways and methods. There are no the best method of it. Entrepreneurship is not something a person is born with, but a set of skills that can be taught and learned.
