Performance budgeting as an effective management tool in local government

Summary/Abstract: This paper is a presentation of results of research “Performance budgeting as an effective management tool in local government”. The research was based on studies of literature and budgets of big cities of Silesian Voivodship. The result shows both the performance budgeting is not meeting expectations resulting from theoretical studies, and it is not an effective tool supporting management in local government. The results suggest also that there is a neccessity of continuation of research in this field.
