Impact of highways on local development, research working paper

Summary/Abstract: Research presented in the article was carried out to determine the impact of highways construction on local economy. According to the research the structure of local economy was changed. This change caused both negative effects (reduction of the population) and positive (increasing income of people and companies). The results show that the impact of highways on local development is ambiguous and cannot be stated in simple terms. However, it is possible to create a model that will enable the prediction and analysis of various aspects of this phenomenon.
